I Want One !

I have been reading about the  Squeezebox radio by Logitech (above) and it has to be one of the coolest gadgets I’ve seen for a while. Basically its a portable internet radio which connects using the wi-fi signal in your house. So you can listen to any radio station from around the world via the internet without having to turn your computer on.

You can even plug in your MP3 player to playback your songs in the built-in speakers. That is a good feature as I can pack the radio in my suitcase when travelling and when I get to a hotel plug in my MP3 player and listen to my music. Oh and here is also something pretty nifty, you can recommend a song that you’re listening to your friends directly on Facebook, again without a computer !

I haven’t seen the Squeezebox Radio on sale here, but on Amazon it’s selling for $200 (around KD 60) which really isn’t bad. Here is a short promo clip of the Logitech Squeezebox Radio:

I checked out the review of the Squeezebox radio on CNET UK and they loved it, giving it a score of 9.1 out of 10[LINK]

The Amazon page is useful as it gives an easy overview of the features of the Squeezebox radio and how it works [LINK]

Nice device. I like the idea.
Do you know any good internet radio stations? The ones I came across were not that impressive.

very convenient, it just seems that we can never stop buying gadgets because you always feel there is something you need (or want)! thanks for the idea.

gasman : I read that the radio automatically finds loads of radio stations when you first set it up. Personally I would use it to listen to BBC Radio 1 from the UK for good music and BBC Radio 5 for great football talk shows after Premier League games.

triple-a : I know what you mean ! At least with this radio I don’t have a problem of choosing from different makes (which is the issue with mobile phones for example !)
