Zzzzzzzz

These last a couple of days I’ve had a bit of a cold and usually some Panadol and a good night’s sleep does the trick. During Ramadan though, I (like most of us) have been losing out on sleep time during the night. I’ve been going to bed really late and having to get up for work in the morning.

So the other night I decided to not only go to bed a bit earlier but wanted to make sure I had a good deep sleep. I went with a recommendation from my brother and sister. They both told me to make myself a cup of Lipton Quiet Night Tea. “Drink this”, they said “and it will be lights out till the morning”. I had my doubts to be honest, but went with what they said. I boiled the kettle and put the tea bag in for 5 minutes.

Now usually the only tea I drink is green tea, so this had a very different taste. It had the taste of chamomile and vanilla. I’m not a big fan of those flavours but it tasted pretty good and I didn’t need to add sugar. After about 20 minutes or so I started feeling sleepy and headed off to bed.

I woke up the following morning after what was the best sleep I have had in a loooong time. It really did the trick. A nice, good, solid, uninterrupted sleep. It’s definitely worth keeping some in the kitchen for the next time you have trouble sleeping because it really does help.

why is that there are so many different types of tea and coffee nowadays. cant u just ask for a normal cup of tea or coffee anywhere without having to decide on the flavor?

When it comes to tea there are not only so many flavours but also qualities. So I’m very picky. I don’t drink Lipton- their green tea is awful, so Quiet Night tea is really an exception. For Green Tea, the best is sold loose in specialist shops. I try to buy some of my tea from England whenever i visit. PG Tips (English breakfast tea)and Waitrose Organic Green.

I do agree with you about coffee. Coffee should really be limited to espresso or proper cappuccino, but again quality varies big time.

I think Lipton Quiet Night contains the sleeping drug Zopiclone 7.5 mg - that’s why you sleep so well. Doesn’t say anything on the box tho’.
