Mall 360 - 2nd Impressions(with photos)

imgp1731

This Friday I took my second visit to mall 360. There are still no more new shops open but it was nice to have my morning coffee there. I thought I would try out Coffee Republic, as I have never been to it in Kuwait.  The coffee was disappointing I thought…WAY too hot and not much flavour. But it had free wi-fi and a decent seating area. Still prefer Caribou though.

This time  I’ve taken a few photos for those who have not yet visited the mall, it really is beautifully designed.

This is a photo of the same part of the mall as the first photo but taken from the first floor at the the top of  a very grand staircase. Looks like they’re going to have  small cafe’s in the space below

The Garden section of the Mall, which is a nice touch. That’s Coffee Republic on the top right of the photo.

mall 360

The Mall has a couple of cool design pieces suspended at main sections of the mall. This is one near M&S.

Mall 360

My favourite part of the mall. The curved wooden design gives a great effect.

Mall 360 Kuwait

Another one of the cool design pieces suspended from the 3 floor high ceilings , a chain of flowers gives this part of the mall an oriental feel.

Mall 360

This is probably the most futuristic part of the mall and I don’t think it really fits with the rest of the mall’s design. Its a wall with flashing lights that are timed to give a cool effect that the lights are flowing down the wall.

Um Kalthoum Exhibit

There’s an Um Kalthoum exhibition on at Mall 360 which I haven’t  been to but I’ve heard that its really good.

Looking forward to visit the mall when I get back to Kuwait. U captured some great photos! Coffee Republic have a great location, it’s a shame the coffee wasn’t that good.

Is the 360 idea refelcted in the design or the style of the interior? I’m just curious since I have not been there yet.

Night Flower: Thanks Night Flower! Yeah coffee was a let down but the orange and chocolate muffin was tasty !

q8tears : Wow glad you like the photos, thanks ! I thought I would be the only one taking photos at the mall but there were a few people actually posing for photos.

Ali Rome: Yup the mall is 360 degrees in design so the outer part of the mall where theshops are is curved. Its a bit weird as there are very few shops, but once their open it will look relly impressive.

By looking at the pictures and still not visited it, it still doesnt strike me as being a mall - it looks more like something in the Hilton or another 5 star hotel! Maybe its because the shops havent all opened up yet. Its completely different from any of the other malls in Kuwait though.

I would say less than a quarter of the shops are open and some parts of the mall are totally empty. It does have a 5 star hotel feel about it, you’re right. What I didn’t like was that there are already some people walking with shopping trolleys from the supermarket - that really does spoil the look and they should stop it !

I agree with you, Za. It does look like a 5 star hotel with a couple of desinger shops. Good pics Mix, what camera did you use?

Yeah I know, Coffee Republic its not doing at all well in England and they sold most of their cafes to Cafe’ Nero (my favourite chain)

CR was created by an iranian brother and sister who left thier high profile jobs to venture in the coffee world! They had no experience in the coffee making business and started with the most basic ideas that you can imagine. They started with one branch then in few years expanded all over london. Read their book its called Everyone can do it… very Inspiring for young Entrepreneurs.

I am probably gonna wait till more shops open in september. The place looks dark though, like the malls in kuwait.

There are so few shops open that I think most people are going to the Mall mainly for the cinema.
