Facebook for Music Concerts
I found out about a great website which is THE coolest site for gigs and concerts. The best way to describe it is Facebook for concert goers (sort of). As you would expect, the site allows you to check for upcoming events by artist and venues and you can also set up alerts that let you know which concerts your friends who are also registered on the site are going to. If you want you can also set up alerts for artists. But here is what sets it apart…
You can actually go back and visit posts, reviews and photos from a concert you have attended in the past. Re-live the memories, rate the concert yourself and even add reviews, photos or videos. You can also click on the tab to say “I was there” and it gets added to your “gigography” (a list of all the concerts you attended). The site is called Songkick and it has over a million concerts saved in the database, going waaayyy back !! So chances are a concert you attended is listed too.
Here is a screen shot from one of the pages:

Registration is nice and easy, its only one page and took about 30 seconds. As a second optional step you can install a software which will go through all the songs stored on your PC and send you alerts to tell you when concerts are coming for those singers. I skipped this step as I’m sure I’ve got some MC Hammer songs stored somewhere on my PC…
I’ve been looking for a site like this for a while. Facebook is OK but when you join a group for a singer or band you get a lot of useless info on your message board. This site is miles better and the layout is fantastic.
Oh one last thing, because my location is set to Kuwait, it keeps asking me if I want to have an alert for the next concert in Kuwait - Good one, LOL !

Thanks for telling me about this Ab !
