Movie Review : Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen
This is not going to be a very long review, because Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen doesn’t have much of a plot. If you haven’t see the first movie, don’t bother, you will be lost . Watching the sequel first might also put you off watching the original, which would be a shame. The first Transformers is a good movie, the new one is very disappointing. Maybe because the original was truly ground breaking in special effects. OK , I wasn’t expecting a great plot this time but there is no interaction between the humans and robots like the first one. Even the action scenes are a let down.
In the beginning of the movie there are lot of mini robots in a scene which reminded me of Gremlins (only in this movie it felt like it was more aimed at kids) and even in the (confusing) battle scene at the end its mainly robots against tanks, fighter jets…lots of explosions, but not done in an original way. Its just a standoff. And its confusing because whenever the robots duke it out you can never work out who are the good and the bad robots !
On the upside the middle section of the movie is pretty good, with the best action scenes of the movie. It also has a lot more humor. Watching it on IMAX definitely raised my enjoyment of the movie although Megan Fox’s overly glossy lips made me want to reach for my shades !
To summarise the good and bad points:
Good:
The middle part, some very funny moments, Megan Fox (if you are a guy)
Bad:
The “plot”, nowhere near as good as the original, boring and confusing battle scenes at the end, Megan Fox (if you are a girl).

what a shame!!! was really looking forward to watching the movie !!! Don’t tell me its as much of a let down as x-men was!??! Cause x-men wasn’t even worth watching (really boring)
X-men is Oscar winning stuff compared to Transformers 2 !!
In my Top 5 Worst Movies of All Time..!! It was an absolutely degrading experience…it was criminal on Hollywood’s behalf to release such pathetic crap to the world (even by Hollywood’s low standards)…the cartoon was more ‘grown up’ and ’serious’ than this abomination of a movie!!
Sounds like my 2 stars was pretty generous ! I hope the experience hasn’t scarred you for life :)
