How well can you read a face ?
Think you are pretty good reader of facial expressions and can tell what people are feeling ? Well take the test below and see how good you really are !
Follow the instructions below.

Instructions:
1.Write down the following 7 emotions on a piece of paper: anger, fear, disgust, sadness, contempt (ie disrespect), surprise and enjoyment.
2.Now look at each photo for a couple of seconds and choose the emotion that you think best suits the facial expression. There are only 7 emotions so some are used more than once. Its easier if you list 1-9 and write down the emotion next to each one.
3. Once you have done that click below to see what the answers are (with explanation). No peeking !
I got 5 out of 9. Let me know your scores !

I got 6/9 ! I really enjoyed that, some of the expressions are more obvious than others.
Pretty good score. You’re right, I couldn’t work out which one was “disgust”.
I got 4.
You’re right. It’s not as easy as it seems.
Great post.
Thanks F. !
I know. I thought I was pretty good at reading people’s reactions, especially during meetings, but now I’m beginning to wonder !
I managed to get 8/9 which is pretty good the one I didnt get was number 4 I said “sad” … oops but still was pretty hard.
6/9 …
Very interesting test
i got 5. i really wanna master this. especially when i started watching “Lie To Me”
7/9. Perhaps some could fit within more than one category?? I believe Gottman’s theory describes disgust, anger and contempt as being closely related. #6 reflects anger, but I also see a wrinkled nose and a look of contempt… just a thought!
