BA - Another Bad Experience

bapic-copy

I had arrived in London after a pretty awful in-flight experience with BA from Kuwait.  I first noticed something strange when I walked through business class and the seats were the old fabric style ones. They had all the leg room and everything but not the modern (fake) leather seats.  That would have pissed me off had I been flying Business. They looked at least 10 years old. But worse was to come.

Just before we took off the captain mentioned that due to technical difficulties there is unlikely to be any in-flight entertainment for the whole flight !! He said that the flight crew would be working to try and fix it, (but as he said ground engineers in Heathrow and Kuwait couldn’t fix it - I personally doubted the guy who gives out the pretzels would do any better !!). And I was right. 6 hours with nothing to watch :(  Luckily I had my laptop with just enough battery to watch the last episode of the UK Apprentice - but that was it.

Then just before we landed they finally rushed out the main meal for everyone. Why do they wait so long?? I’ve learnt from experience to bring sandwiches from Costa with me as I would never be able to make it. And just as well because the food this time was terrible. The choice was beef or “vegetable lasagna”.

Last time I chose the beef and it was as tough as old boots - I had jaw ache from having to chew so much. This time I went for the lasagna. What a mistake. It was basically curried vegetables with a thin slice of pasta on top. And it had tomato (m3joon) on one side of the dish! I couldn’t finish it. At least there was a milky bar to get the taste of the lasagna out of my mouth !

Just before we landed they gave out customer feedback forms which had already mentioned the in-flight entertainment probs, so they already knew about it way in advance. Filled it out and gave it in. Let’s see if they get back to me !

It seems that BA are using their old planes for Kuwait flights… and they wouldn’t give a damn about in-flight services since their main competetion is Kuwait Airway !!! Im sure that for their flight to dubai or Doha they use their most modern planes.

I’ve read recently that BA is in very bad shape (business wise)…they were mentioning a host of job cuts and major salary cuts aswel…so start expecting the top quality service!!

hmm my flights london-kuwait and kuwait-london in April, and all previous flights on BA have been perfectly alright..from the service, to the food and entertainment, although i do agree that the business seats def need an upgrade!

soo im guessing its either the recession hitting them hard…or its just you and your bad luck :P

    beats KA anyday though..!

Well I must be on a bad run. Before this trip, on my last return journey to Kuwait back in May, they lost my suitcase and it took 4 days to arrive. This flight had no entertainment and the last one was over an hour late leaving, and for some reason they also cranked up the microphone to 10 when they made announcements to passengers ! Even so, ANYTHING is better than KA!!
